NEWS FLASH

** 07-14-98 **

First off..while adding Mr. Winklers editor..I must admit that I cleaned out my Email and added all the puzzles that I have found laying about..most weren't added before because they weren't sent in ZIP format..but they are there now..have fun.

James Winkler has released, what he claims to be a working version of his Lode Runner Editor, version 1.0.0. This editor allows you to..you guessed it..EDIT your Lode Runner levels..

Here is the authors comments:

"I attempted to make this read corrupted files and Mac files. I have not tested it out on Mac files. It seems to lode one corrupt file that I have on hand.

Setting up complex transporter schemes is rather easy. Click on the transporter, then on the receiver and it's setup.

You can paint tiles with each tile being different from the one before.

You can paint Jake and Wes, but not monks yet.

Puzzles can be flipped left to right.

Tiles can be smoothed out to a seemless block.

Right clicking on a tile brings up a popup menu with erase, paint and other functions."

The filenames are lodeedit1.zip and hardburn.zip

So get out there and start editing..and let me see what you have done.. : )

** 03-02-98 ** OK...I hope you all like the updates to the page..and expect more to come..I'm just playing right now..and learning some more HTML.. :) Stick around..and watch it grow.. For now..NEWS FLASH and SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT basically serve the same purpose...MY SOAPBOX!! No..I'm kidding..but they do give me a chance to speak to you all..so..uh..Hello.. :) If there are ever any future announcements to be made..they will be here..in the NEWS FLASH Section..Ok..

Now, the reason I started this page was to tell all of you who have made this page better by sending levels, info, photos..etc..THANK YOU!!

I can't tell you all how nice it is to log on to check into the site, and find all the new entries to the guestbook. I also get a great deal of pleasure from reading all the E-mail that you all send..keep it coming..and keep those levels coming too..

This is an update..I hope to be making some changes..fixing a few things..rearranging..etc..so keep checking back..I may even get around to answering some E-mail.. I can't respond to those of you who want to know where you can find PIRATE copies of the various versions of Lode Runner.. I get a lot of mail that falls into this category...and besides being illegal..if the makers of Lode Runner don't think it would make them any money..they wont make ANY MORE..this makes sense to me..how about you? Personally, I would like to support the software that I love so much...

Those of you who continue to drop me E-mail telling me how much you like the museum....keep it up...I'm glad there are so many Lode Runners out there to this day..If any of you have levels to add, please send them in...if you have sent some in..in the past..and they didn't get posted..please re-send them..or let me know what they are called...I may have lost them... :) not on purpose..but sometimes it does happen.. Also..on this same topic..I would really like homeade level submissions to be compressed using PKZIP (in one form or another) and attached to the E-mail as a file..I don't like messing around with encoding/decoding stuff in my mail...Thank you...

Peace to you all.. Sincerely,

Lode Runner Lynny

Added The Original P.C. version of Lode Runner to the Games Section..Please read the accompanying text file.

I have been very busy with other projects and I know I have been neglecting the museum. I am sorry for this, and I appreciate all of you who continue to visit. Well, this just in..it appears as though something has happened to the CGI based counter I was using...By the way..anyone know what the counters were on before they died?? I started a new counter with a new, hopefully more reliable service..I started the counter at 2000...its not exact..but I know it was close.. :)

** 08-24-97 ** ** A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ** ** 08-25-97 ** Added 2P2P level sent in by George Au. Thanks George!
